Dépression de l'Upemba is part of the Tentative list of Congo (Democratic Republic) in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Dépression de l'Upemba is a group of about forty archaeological sites. They enable us to retrace the occupation of the region over more than two millennia and to reconstruct the history of a major ethnic group in Central Africa: the Luba. This region is covered with lakes and marshlands.
